Oklahoma City Indian Clinic is looking to add you to our team!! We are hiring a Dental Assistant! Our ideal candidate excels in a fast paced environment, works great with a team, is open and adaptable to change and brings new ideas. We thrive on excellent quality of care and customer service to our Native patients.Â
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Receives and prepares patient for dental exam or treatment.
- Sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists the dentist during dental procedures.
- Sterilizes and disinfects instruments. Maintains equipment and instruments through proper cleansing, sterilization, maintenance and storage.
- Takes and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
- Exposes quality dental diagnostic x-rays for patient charts.
- Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
- Pours, trims, and polishes study casts, fabricates custom impression trays from preliminary impressions, cleans and polishes removable appliances, and fabricates temporary restorations.
- Assists dentists in management of medical and dental emergencies.
- Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
- Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by the dentist.
- Applies protective coating of fluoride to teeth as prescribed by the dentist.
- Records treatment information in patient records.
- Schedules appointments.
- Sets up instruments/trays for next day's clinic.
- Performs Dental Receptionist duties as needed.
