OKCIC is seeking an RN Manager of Education and Quality. This position is responsible for leading, developing, and evaluating clinical education programs and quality improvement initiatives within the organization. This role ensures that nursing staff possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and support to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care. The RN collaborates with clinical and operational leaders to align educational activities with regulatory requirements, organizational goals, and best practices in nursing care.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing orientation, competency, and continuing education programs tailored to outpatient clinic needs.
- Assess educational needs of clinical staff and design evidence-based learning programs to support onboarding, competency validation, ongoing development, and compliance.
- Oversee clinical orientation programs for new nurses and ensure consistent preceptor training.
- Coordinate and deliver in-services, workshops, simulation, and continuing education opportunities.
- Ensure educational content aligns with current standards of practice, accreditation, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA).
- Support culturally responsive education that incorporates tribal traditions, values, and health practices.
- Provide hands-on training, in-services, and educational resources to ensure nursing staff remain current with evidence-based practices and regulatory standards.
- Maintain records of staff training, licensure, certifications, and ongoing competency evaluations.
- Lead nursing quality improvement projects using data and feedback to improve patient outcomes, safety, and clinic workflows.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as patient satisfaction, infection control, immunization rates, and care coordination.
- Assist in regulatory readiness, including compliance with Indian Health Service (IHS), The Joint Commission, HRSA, CMS, and other accrediting or funding bodies.
- Collaborate with risk management and nursing leadership on root cause analyses, incident reviews, and corrective action planning.
- Support nurse department and quality support staff
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff across departments.
- Partner with tribal leadership, community programs, and other departments to support health education and outreach initiatives.
