Description

Healix Infusion Therapy is seeking a Part Time Compounding Pharmacy Technician to perform sterile compounding at our pharmacy located in Sugar Land, TX.

 

SCHEDULE: Primarily evening shift, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM. No weekend shifts, only Monday - Friday.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Complies with all state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • Complies with all Healix polices and procedures affecting scope of responsibilities.
  • Performs technical duties as assigned by pharmacists.
  • Participates in departmental quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Assists with general workflow in the pharmacy including staging, filling of flush syringes, labeling, shipping and sanitation of bins. 
  • Maintains accurate records of all assignments.
  • Makes recommendations to Pharmacy Manager as to how methods and procedures can be improved.
  • Observes and reports any unusual situations, occurrences, conditions or complaints related to pharmacy operations to the Pharmacy Manager.     
  • Records initials on all mixing reports and prescription labels.
  • Has all work checked by a Pharmacist.
  • Keeps work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Prioritizes workload and uses time efficiently.
  • Wears neat and appropriate apparel and is identifiable as a pharmacy technician.
  • Answers the telephone in assigned area and directs calls quickly and professionally.
  • Accountable for the time period in which scheduled to work.  Notifies Pharmacist when leaving area for breaks or meals.

ABOUT US

Healix® manages physician-owned office infusion centers and pharmacies nationwide providing in-office treatment and take-home medications for optimal patient comfort and outcomes. Our on-site clinical pharmacy team consists of Clinical Pharmacy Managers and Certified Pharmacy Technicians who provide an array of pharmaceutical care services to patients within Healix-managed office infusion centers across the country. Our pharmacists and technicians are able to enjoy daytime hours within a physician office setting and have direct patient interaction in an interdisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications:

    • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
    • Completion of one of the following:
      • Completion and certification from an ASHP accredited pharmacy technician training program. 
      • Completion of a course sponsored by an ACPE approved provider that provides 40 hours of instruction and experience in all areas listed in Section 291.36c 4 A of the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Laws and Regulations Texas State Board of Pharmacy License.
      • Maintains required Sterile Products hours to meet TSBP rules for technicians compounding sterile products.
    • Maintains one of the following as a condition of employment:
      • PTCB Certification
      • ExCPT certification
