Position Summary

 

The Director, Revenue Accounting is responsible for the overall leadership and success of their respective Revenue Accounting team. This includes the development of the revenue accounting team, processes to support the departments revenue methodology, and working cross functionally with other teams within the business to drive improvement and efficiencies.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Lead and develop the revenue accounting team and promote employee engagement
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with key customer accounts to achieve mutual goals
  • Address significant customer issues and concerns as they arise; works with customers to formulate an acceptable solution while maintaining the interests of the company; oversees execution of plan or process change
  • Ensures proper execution of customer agreements/contracts as they relate to invoicing and collections
  • Establish and ensure compliance to order-to-cash processes that support the department’s revenue methodology in accordance with ASC 606
  • Develop and enhance processes and controls around revenue related financial metrics
  • Engage with commercial teams to provide thought leadership and assist in structuring complex sales transactions
  • Coordinate revenue accounting system improvements partnering with vendor, IT group, and other teams
  • Assist with integration of private fleet conversions or acquisitions

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Transportation industry, with 5+ years management experience
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Able to give clear and consistent recommendations and/or instructions to team members
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
  • Excellent listening, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast-paced team environment
