The Housing Services Associate provides excellent customer service to incoming residents and guests by creating an engaging and warm welcome to the Dallas campus, as well as offering safe, local transportation opportunities for DTS residents and guests.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide airport shuttle services for incoming residents or guests to/from local airports to the Dallas Campus as scheduled
  • Offer fee-based transportation services to residents or guests to local grocery, shopping, airport or other destinations around Dallas as scheduled by Campus Housing
  • Arrive at destinations on schedule
  • Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
  • Use navigation tools to assist with determining best route
  • Interact with residents and guests professionally at all times
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean, fueled, and ready for use
  • Report any damage or repairs needed for safe and proper vehicle operation to FPO representative
  • Keep mileage records up-to-date
  • Provide resident or guest with apartment keys and welcome package
  • Support resident move-in/move-out process as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Commitments Unique to the Position:
  • Must select a course schedule that is conducive to the requirements of the role (approved by Supervisor)
  • Work nights and weekends as assigned
  • Be on-call for resident and guests arrivals

Qualifications

  • Excellent time management skills to stay on schedule
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to keep track of pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment

Education and Experience:

  • A valid US driver’s license
  • At least on year of driving experience to perform the job safely
  • High School Degree preferred

Federal Work Study Requirements

  • Candidate must be a current DTS student registered at least half-time (5 credit hours if graduate student; 3 credit hours if PhD student)
  • Candidate must have completed the 2024-2025 FAFSA. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid will help to determine the candidate's eligibility for this federal work-study position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical stamina and good upper body strength to load and unload heavy luggage
  • Ability to stand or walk for a prolonged period
  • Ability to climb stairs

Additional Requirements

  • Agree and adhere to the DTS Safety Policy for DTS Drivers Policy
  • Eligible for DTS Automobile Insurance Coverage Policy
  • Retain auto liability insurance always on your car with state minimum limits
