Temporary Position: Parish Coordinator for Children’s Formation
I. General Summary of Position
To assist St. Mary Parish’s ongoing support of parents as the primary educator of their children by supervising a comprehensive 1st through 6th grade Sunday school curriculum for the 2025-26 school year. This also includes aiding in the preparation of catechetical aged children for the sacraments of initiation.
This position assists the Pastor in implementing our mission of discipleship of Jesus Christ. This position reports to the Regional Director of Liturgy and Faith Formation.

II. Essential Position Duties
- Sunday School program: During the school year, recruit and supervise volunteer teachers. Support them with approved catechetical materials. Coordinate supplies as needed.
- Christian Initiation for Children (unbaptized children over the age of reason): As directed by pastor and staff, coordinate and supervise formation for children who have reached the age of reason and desire Baptism.
- Administrative Support: Keep accurate records for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Collect fees for Sunday school. Become familiar with ParishStaq software program.
- Family Liaison: Contact families regarding attendance. Bilingual (English and Spanish) conversational skills highly preferred.
- Maintain a level of knowledge and skills required for this Catholic ministry.

Schedule: 3 hours each Sunday during the school; roughly 3 additional hours (flexible) during the week for preparation and other responsibilities.
Compensation: $6,500 to $7,500/yr., DOE.
