Description

The parish of St. Rose in Longview's purpose is to reflect Christ’s radical love in the world today.  By serving, listening, and leading with compassion, we carry out our timeless Catholic mission to make disciples. Every role in the parish is responsible for working together to extend this ministry and connect the local community with the worldwide Church by inspiring faith, hope, and unity.

  1.   GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
    • The purpose of this position is to develop, implement and direct the evangelization process and efforts of the parish, especially by coordinating or providing the formation of volunteers and group leaders, and equipping parishioners to carry out the Great Commission. 
  2. ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:
    • Collaborates with the Pastor and Parochial Vicar in implementing the mission of the parish.  
    • Collaborates with Deacon to provide resources and support to the OCIA team. 
    • Develops a program to form parishioners in deeper Christian Discipleship, spiritual maturity, and evangelical drive in accord with the sacred tradition and mind of the Church. This is accomplished by gathering information about the needs of the parish and implementing a variety of offerings such as: small faith sharing groups, bible study, guest presenters, etc. 
    • Coordinates efforts to express welcome to seekers and new arrivals to our community, as well as evangelical outreach to invite people and propose the Faith. 
    • Coordinates and develops opportunities for social and community building events, with a special emphasis on inter-site participation and welcome. 
    • Coordinates Vocation promotion and enrichment in the parish, inclusive of the Sacrament of Matrimony. 
    • Within Partners in the Gospel process, help groups discern and implement consolidation, cooperation, recruitment, and reduction of redundancy between church campuses. 
    • Develops and maintains sufficient knowledge to utilize Parishstaq for coordinating and scheduling ministries, and serves as a resource to parishioners and leaders in the use of these resources.  
    • Participates in staff meetings on a regular basis.  
    • Maintains a level of personal spiritual and professional growth required for this position by reading, attending workshops, conferences and participating in deanery and archdiocese activities as approved and appropriate.  
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the pastor. 

Qualifications

 

  • A practicing faithful Catholic and active member of a parish in good standing with the Church.
  • Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Suite and Social Media platforms.
  • Previous experience with lay and ordained ministers.
  • Skilled in leading, motivating and collaborating with volunteers, including recruiting new volunteers.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving environment. 

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
