Position Objective
The Bartender will provide superior customer service to our guests and ensure they have a positive experience when at any Léal property. Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately mixing beverages and responsibly serving guests in a friendly and efficient matter. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guests needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed.
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet every guest warmly with an appropriate greeting as they enter. Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests.
  • Mix drinks, cocktails, and other bar beverages as ordered and consistent with the Company’s standard drink recipes.
  • Upsell drink specials and food items as directed by management.
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of an alcoholic beverage
  • Handle the house bank and follow all cash handling procedures
  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the POS system.
  • Collect payments from guests, process credit card charges, and accurately make changes as needed.
  • Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.
  • Maintain high standards for safety and cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Wash, sterilize, and polish glasses and dishes in the absence of the dishwasher and/or as directed by the manager
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from a guest to management
  • Complete all side work duties including the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by the state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, and intoxicated people
  • Keep equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas. Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the General Manager of the property
  • Drive company golf carts and other vehicles as needed, at an appropriate speed and with caution.
  • Practice safe working habits and take required breaks and meal periods in a timely manner
  • Accurately and promptly report 100% of your cash and credit card tips to the General Manager for payroll and tax purposes.

Qualifications

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Competences:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a current California Food Handlers Certificate
  • Must possess and maintain a current ABC-approved California Responsible Beverage Server Training Certificate
  • Previous bartending experience with working knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor and common drink recipes required.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point-of-sale (POS) terminal/device.
  • Possess an outgoing friendly personality, positive attitude, and strong communication skills.
  • Be willing to serve and entertain guests according to the perceived atmosphere and expectation of guests.
  • Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance and be well-spoken and professional
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
  • Must be available to work a varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours of business
  • Able to work under pressure and remain calm to resolve problems using good judgment
  • Sound judgment and solid leadership skills and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service procedures, and functions.
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Possess honesty and integrity

In accordance with California law, the expected pay rate for this California position is $16.50/per hour + Tips. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
