POSITION SUMMARY: The Host Homes Pilot Project Manager is the primary leader for a youth-facing and volunteer-facing Host Homes pilot project anticipated to operate for at least 12 months between fall 2025 and fall 2026. This position would represent the program within the community, supervise staff working directly with youth placed in the Host Homes pilot project, facilitate and primarily coordinate volunteer engagement, and act as a secondary leader within the Oasis Youth Shelter program located in Mount Vernon. The Host Homes pilot project is an new program type operated by the Skagit Valley Family YMCA as part of Skagit County’s Communities for Functional Zero (C4F0) movement. Through a generous community donation, this project is guaranteed funding for one year, and therefore the role is only guaranteed for a temporary period of time. However, the Skagit Y and C4F0 teams are actively seeking additional funding to convert the pilot project into a permanent program operated by the Skagit Y by 2026.Â

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Â Â
- Approaches and models youth engagement from a strengths-based, pro-social, harm reduction, and trauma-informed lens. Embraces evidence-based practices for youth development.Â
- Serve as primary leader of for all activities associated with the Host Homes Pilot Project from fall 2025 through fall 2026.
- Recruits, hires, trains and supervises Host Homes Pilot Project staff members and volunteers including, at minimum, a 0.5 FTE Care Coordinator.Â
- Works closely with the Host Homes Work Group as part of the Communities for Functional Zero (C4F0) movement to design, implement, and adapt the Host Homes Pilot Project.Â
- Works closely with other Social Impact program staff and Care Coordinators to ensure wrap around care for youth and Host Homes volunteers.Â
- Co-creates and jointly provides training for new volunteers in collaboration with the Strategic Partnerships Coordinator and/or the Professional Development Coordinator and/or the Host Homes Work Group and other partners as applicable to ensure preparation and ongoing skills-development of volunteers as part of the pilot project.Â
- Helps plan and manage community outreach activities to foster community engagement with the project. Â
- Holds primary oversight of the data collection and documentation systems from participants and helps assess efficacy of the program with the goal of continuous improvement. Â
- Maintains ongoing knowledge of and accessible lists of resources (for staff and youth) relevant to youth served on site.Â
- Ensures a consistent, basic level of resource and referral for all youth who identify a need for support through the Host Homes Pilot Project.Â
- Assists Oasis Youth Shelter and other Social Impact leaders with coverage, thought partnership, and decision-making as applicable. Â
- Coordinates, supports, and informs grant and contract applications and reporting as needed.Â
- Educate, motivate and provide feedback to staff and volunteers as applicable.Â
- Engages in legislative advocacy efforts annually as applicable.Â
- Holds positive relationships with partners across governmental, educational system, nonprofit, community-based, and other institutional settings. Â
- Positively represents Social Impact programs and the Skagit Y across coalitions, task forces, and other associated groups and gatherings across the community.
