Summary

The Project Specialist at Shoals will employ a “project ownership” approach to provide direction to cross-functional teams comprised of customers and business stakeholders. This role will be a member of the Shoals Project Management team and help manage project and order fulfillment processes across our customer portfolio. This role works closely alongside Sales Account Executives and will require the use of effective communication to ensure customer requirements are managed and fulfilled. The role will also require a consultative approach to engage the appropriate people, processes, tools and to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This role will act as a team builder to promote empowerment of the team, creating a safe environment for failing fast and learning, engagement and participation of team members and encourage a sustainable pace that can maintain quality.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the customer’s project lifecycle between kickoff and completion of material delivery.
  • Coordinate activities to ensure seamless collaboration between customer and cross-functional departments.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on project status as required.
  • Strongly prioritize timely responses to customers and departmental inquiries.
  • Oversee the tracking of previously defined project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze detailed data and evaluate results to determine optimal next steps.
  • Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected stakeholders.
  • Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process and take corrective actions, as needed to drive projects to completion.
  • Coordinate deliverables from the various teams to accompany production dates, shipment releases, etc.
  • Assist with “hands-on” requests and assignments as needed.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional conduct and stewardship, setting an example for team members.
     

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS or BA Degree in Business Management or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 0-2 years minimum experience required

Preferred:

  • PMP License
  • 2+ years’ experience
  • Knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices

 

Skills Required

  • Effective interpersonal skills including team collaboration
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands
  • Knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools such as MS Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
