Job Summary

The Senior Physical Security Engineer is responsible for conducting presales and installation of physical security systems. Installations include but are not limited to video surveillance, door access and other building security controls in construction sites, commercial buildings, or industrial facilities. The job duties include presales design and documentation, site inspections, problem solving and communications with all stake holders. 

This position will also assist other teams within High Point Networks with installations. This could include assisting the Unified Communication, Systems or Network Teams with installation projects.  

To be successful in this role, the Senior Physical Security Engineer will need to have strong communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of the installation process for the specific industry and equipment being installed. They will understand the intricacies of the presales process to design the best system for the engagement needs. They should also be able to work well under pressure and be comfortable making quick decisions when necessary. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the presales process: Ability to perform a needs assessment to provide a system design based on the requirements and security objectives of the customer, under the direction of the Sales Engineer. 
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Will need to be able to identify problems that may arise during the installation process and work with their team to find solutions to these issues.
  • Maintaining records and documentation for the project: Responsible for maintaining detailed records of the installation process, including materials used, labor hours, and any issues or problems encountered. Assist in maintaining up to date scope of work documents. 
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards: Ensure that the installation process complies with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
  • Communicating with stakeholders: Responsible for communicating with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on the installation process, address any concerns or issues, and ensure that the installation meets their expectations.  
  • Other Duties as assigned

Ability to Thrive in our Environment:

  • Hours of operation are typically within a normal working day but at times will require after-hours work. 
  • Travel is involved with some overnight stays. A valid driver's license is required. 
  • There are minimal after-hours and on-call requirements. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the duties of this position, individuals may be required to stand and walk for extended periods using handheld equipment and power tools
  • May encounter frequent climbing of stairs and ladders  
  • Will use normal range of vision, hearing, and speaking
  • Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis and formulation
  • Individuals may be required to physically climb, bend, crouch, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, reach, and twist to accomplish duties
