Part Time-Community Engagement Ambassador-Kennedy Center

Job Summary

The Community Engagement Ambassador’s primary role will be to recruit and engage parents/caregivers residing in a high removal and investigations areas, while connecting them to Center of Hope (COH) programs and services. This position will also be a community resident of the 32206 zip code.

 

This position is a voice of the community, which helps to identify community needs, gaps and barriers through focus groups and listening sessions. This position engages community members through inclusive outreach, facilitates equitable discussions to help resident problem-solve issues and brainstorm opportunities, shares community resources – from funding opportunities to programs that support the community’s needs/interests.

 

This position requires direct contact and consultation with community members, community providers/partners and stakeholders. This position will report to the Operational Management Supervisor and Executive Director of Community Reinvestment.

Job Duties

  • Engage community residents, families, non-profits, child care, school based and faith-based organizations to help determine needs of the 32206 community at program start-up and on-going basis.
  • Inform community members about different services available at the Center of Hope. Identify any barriers to services and connect resident to Family Support Navigator.
  • Assist with the facilitation of parent and community support groups, workshops, and focus groups, as needed.
  • Assist with organizing and facilitating community events, programs, groups, workshops, neighborhood block parties geared towards meeting the needs of the 32206 community
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma with at least two years of community engagement and leadership experience
  • Must have lived experience such as being a parent, community leader or someone who has taken an active role in advancing an issue important to children and families or the general welfare of the neighborhood. This position must live in the 32206 zip code and must be able to demonstrate previous work engaging others and ability to complete work with minimal direction.
  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Schedule & Hours

Typically Monday-Friday, 20 hrs. max weekly, including (2) eight-hour shifts and (1) 4-hour shift,  and possible evenings & weekends
