Description

BMA is seeking a IT Systems Audit - Junior to join our team. This is a remote role.

 

Job Summary 

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in IT and financial systems auditing.

  • Holds a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification or higher and demonstrates a solid understanding of federal financial management regulations and auditing frameworks.

  • Supporting audit and advisory engagements with technical direction and performing assessments of system controls and compliance.

  • Apply federal accounting principles to assess data integrity and compliance across diverse accounting and IT systems.

  • Support audit activities related to the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA), FICAM, and FISCAM requirements.

  • Evaluate and document compliance of financial systems with federal regulations, including the Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM) and GAO guidance.

  • Conduct assessments of IT general and application controls in areas such as cybersecurity, access controls, change management, and segregation of duties.

  • Participate in the planning, execution, and reporting phases of IT audit engagements, including development of working papers and summary reports with actionable recommendations.

  • Analyze and interpret systems development life cycle (SDLC) artifacts, including system requirements and design documentation.

  • Provide input on control evaluation within ERP environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Collaborate with team members and clients to present audit findings and ensure compliance with applicable standards.

 

 

Clearance Requirements 

There is a IT-II security clearance or a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) Clearance requirement for this position. 

 

 

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business, accounting, or technical field.

  • Active Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification or higher.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT/IS and/or financial audit engagements.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations, including:

    • FFMIA, FICAM, and FISCAM

    • GAO’s Green Book

    • Federal Audit Manual

    • OMB Circulars: A-123, A-127, A-134

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project).

  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical communication skills.

  • Experience in producing clear, well-supported audit documentation and reports.

 

 

Desired Skills & Certifications

  • Prior experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) audit efforts.

  • Familiarity with DoD ERP environments and audit remediation initiatives.

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent).
