What does a Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Case Worker do?
- Educate YFS staff, youth, families, and external providers on identifying and supporting youth at risk of or experiencing Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC)
- Support best practices by guiding YFS staff in implementing trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches for working with CSEC-affected youth
- Monitor high-risk youth by maintaining oversight of individuals identified through the YFS First Responder Identification Tool (FRIT)
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with agencies such as Child Welfare Services, Victim Witness Program, Juvenile Probation, and others through regular case consultations and weekly MDT meetings
- Ensure documentation accuracy by reviewing all CSEC-related forms, screening tools, reports, and client records for completeness and accuracy
- Foster collaborative relationships with youth, families, and community partners to ensure access to immediate, safe, and supportive services
- Facilitate daily one-on-one check-ins with resident and drop-in youth, family meetings, and follow-up meetings and calls to identify additional areas of need or support and update each client’s individualized service plan in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate strong and effective crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques and provide appropriate referrals in response to 24-hour crisis calls, drop-ins, residents, families, and community members.
- Use assessment skills and screening tools in collaboration with youth, families, and community partners to establish and track goodness of fit and make appropriate internal and external recommendations and referrals for services.
- Support youth to enhance their education, vocation, relationships and communication, independent living skills, physical health, mental health, and more.
- Maintain and update daily documentation and record keeping including client case notes, file maintenance, service records
- Complete daily facility maintenance checks including but not limited to inspecting, cleaning, and disinfecting of the facility and company vehicle.
- Identify and prepare healthy and nutritious meals to residents and drop-in clients, engaging them in the cooking process to promote healthy communication and independent living skills.
- Assist youth with scheduling of and provide safe transportation to medical appointments and other required health and supportive services.
