Gather Catering is a new brand powered by the proven expertise and infrastructure of Trademark Venues, one of Southern California’s most prolific and respected event organizations. With thousands of catered events produced annually at our in-house venues, we’re now expanding into off-site catering—bringing elevated hospitality to corporate events, private estates, third-party venues, and more. Gather exists to deliver the same uncompromising standard of excellence, but beyond our walls.
We’re seeking a Director of Catering Sales with deep experience in off-site catering—someone who understands the nuance, complexity, and scale of executing large, high-touch events at client-selected locations. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a strategic sales professional who can balance top-line growth with operational feasibility, all while embodying the values that have made our company successful.
What You'll Be Doing
- Owning and driving external catering revenue—from first inquiry to signed contract
- Developing and refining scalable sales systems that integrate seamlessly with culinary and logistics operations
- Personally building a high-volume pipeline across corporate, nonprofit, planner, DMC, and social segments
- Serving as both strategist and tactician—bridging the client’s vision with operational execution
- Collaborating closely with executive leadership, chefs, and field operations to ensure alignment across departments
- Representing the brand at key tastings, walkthroughs, site visits, and networking events
- Mentoring future sales team members as the department grows, based on performance benchmarks
You’re a Match If You Have…
- 5+ years of direct experience selling off-site catering (not in-venue or restaurant-only)
- A proven track record of closing $2M+ annually in catering or event sales
- Fluency in off-site catering logistics, not just for backend coordination—but to confidently guide clients, assess feasibility, generate tailored proposals, and translate abstract visions into real-world execution
- Deep knowledge of the Southern California event and venue landscape, including planner and vendor ecosystems
- CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, Tripleseat, HubSpot) and a proactive approach to forecasting and reporting
- A builder’s mindset—excited to create infrastructure, refine systems, and drive long-term growth
- An ability to think and act cross-functionally, aligning with kitchen, warehouse, logistics, and marketing teams
