Childcare Teacher

Cares for group of preschool and nursery children at Prestonwood Baptist Church during weekly Sunday worship services, Wednesday evenings, and special events.

Responsibilities:

• Teaches Biblical thoughts and Biblical activities through the leadership of the class Director
• Gives instruction to children regarding behavior and safety
• Provides prompt and professional care for children’s physical, emotional and social needs, according to the developmental level of the child
• Participates or instructs children in games
• Recommends or initiates measures to control behavior in children
• May escort children to designated activities
• Performs housekeeping duties in classroom, such as cleaning and sanitizing toys, cribs, swings, etc.
• Reads to children, and teaches them simple painting, drawing, handwork, and songs
• May assist at greeter check in desk
• May assist with radio communication
• Other duties as assigned

• Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching church
• Have a joyful passion for children
• Work church wide special events as needed
• Work a regular weekly schedule as needed
• Able to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance
• Able to perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as in climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, where the activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs
• Prior experience caring for infants and young children helpful
