Summary

The Assistant Bar Manager ensures the smooth running of all the bar outlets and their services. This includes set-up for service, the service of outlets while focusing on detail, quality, and customer service. The Assistant Bar Manager will report to the Bar Manager.

Responsibilities 

  • Training and motivating bartenders
  • Keeping up with ABC Laws
  • Enforcing the SOP’s set by the Bar Manager
  • Maintaining checklists in bar outlets to ensure bartenders are prepared for all shifts
  • Ordering and maintaining parts without having tremendous excess stock on hand
  • Enhance bar program by standardizing the basics, and staying on top of trends
  • Ensuring revenue is maximized in all bar outlets
  • Organize and maintaining a cleaning program for all bar outlets ensuring menus are correct and clean
  • Seek guests’ feedback during service
  • Be familiar with the hotel facilities, hours of operations and their locations
  • Must have attention to details to ensure the bars look inviting for our guests
  • New concepts on bar program and cocktails
  • Achievement of budgeted beverage sales, beverage costs and labor costs
  • Control of glassware & bar equipment
  • Be on the floor during service periods to ensure exceptional guest experience
  • Ensures all staff is prepared and organized before service periods
  • Maintaining the Hotel Bar control policies, in accordance with State laws
  • Following proper purchasing and requisitioning procedures (Warehouse & weekly
  • beverage orders)
  • Provide quick service to ensure effective/speedy guest experience
  • Handling guest issues & requests
  • Managing staff morale & appearance

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience is desired
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations and preparation is required with a good focus on cocktails
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well with a large group of people in a team environment
  • Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them satisfactorily
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends and holidays
  • Essential duties require long periods of standing and walking as well as frequent reaching and kneeling, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting and moving objects 50 lbs. or more.
  • Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with events often taking placein the elements in all four seasons. Events often involve loud music
