The Safety Supervisor will develop, coordinate, and implement employee safety policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations throughout the organization.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
- Ensures that the OSHA safety log, recordkeeping, reporting and other administrative requirements related to safety operations and regulations are documented timely, accurately and in accordance with company policy.
- Provides technical and administrative support to the safety committee.
- Identifies and stops operations and activities that could harm employees or equipment.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
- Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
- Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
- Reviews accident and incident reports.
- Carries out analysis of accidents / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
- Provides technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects.
- Performs in-house safety training and safety audits on Sub-contractors.
- Â Trains and motivates all company personnel to adhere to a culture of safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bilingual in Spanish
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or 3+ yrs experience in lieu of degree.
- At least 3 years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment required.
- Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation by using 5 S’s, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Dupont Stop Program and all other applicable OSHA regulations.
- The Safety Coordinator will have experience working with all levels across an organization.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Ability to travel throughout the facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
