Pharmacist

The Pharmacist serves as a licensed professional responsible for the safe, effective, and compliant use of medications within both the hospital and surgery center settings. This position functions part-time as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for a satellite pharmacy located within the surgery center, overseeing daily operations, regulatory compliance, and medication management. Additional hours will be spent at the main hospital pharmacy, supporting the provision of inpatient pharmaceutical services and may include weekend rotations.

The Pharmacist ensures adherence to all federal and state pharmacy laws, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and West Tennessee Healthcare policies while promoting patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.

A graduate degree in Hospital Pharmacy or Business Administration is desirable, but not required.

Licensure/Certification:

Must have a license to practice pharmacy in Tennessee

Must meet all requirements to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge as defined by the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy

Must acquire 15 hours of live continuing education per 2 year and 15 hours of non live per 2 years

Experience:

A minimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience is required.
