Information Technology Support

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Technician will report to the Information Technology & Network Manager and will be responsible to provide maintenance of staff, student, and facility devices by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, supporting the internal IT Helpdesk, and managing IT inventory. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of the organization's PCs, printers, servers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following is an explanation of the duties of the IT Technician. It includes the major highlights of the requirements of the position. There should be a clear understanding that the duties outlined below are not all encompassing. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to the IT Technician as required.

• • Manning and updating of the IT help desk system (One to One Plus). This will require logging service requests, dispatching and ensuring that service requests are closed off I completed. IT support will be provided by IT Technicians both on-site and remotely as required by the task.
  • On-going maintenance of the IT hardware assets across the schools. As equipment is added, transferred or removed from any of the CHP School’s premises the incumbent will ensure that the physical inventory systems are maintained accordingly. This includes computer hardware and voice I data systems.
  • Support the school technical support team as required by his immediate supervisor and / or special project requirements. This may require commuting across the schools by the incumbent.
  • Perform technical support for the CHP School Network. This encompasses support of the student assigned computers as well as the school staff. In this role, the incumbent will make sure that student computers are updated and set up with the required software platform. In addition, the incumbent will expedite the repair of any damaged student computers.
    • Provide general device support to the users across all CHP School buildings.

2. The IT Technician will work indoors, outdoors, on campus and off campus with frequent stressful situations.
3. There is a 37.5+ hour work week that includes occasional weekend and evening work.

Salary commensurate with experience.

Education, Training and Experience

Possession of a certificate in information systems, data processing, electronics technology, mainframe operations, or microcomputer systems gained through completion of a one-year, college level curriculum is preferred. If formal education in information technology is not possessed, the candidate should have at least two years of practical professional experience.​​​​​​
