Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and champion the overall vision and strategy for DataOps and DevOps, with a strong emphasis on leveraging AI for optimization and automation.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams of data engineers, DevOps engineers, and related specialists.
  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines and infrastructure to support significant team expansion.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams to ensure alignment and effective delivery.
  • Drive the adoption of modern technologies and methodologies to optimize performance and efficiency.
  • Lead the re-engineering of efficiently coded MVP products into the platform DevOps for greater efficiency.
  • Support training and education systems to empower less experienced developers with built-in testing and new AI tools.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning, contributing to the company's long-term vision.

Qualifications

Skills, Education and Experience

Required:

  • Typically, 15+ years of progressive experience in technology, with significant leadership roles in data engineering, DevOps, or related areas.
  • A strong track record of building and scaling technical teams, ideally up to 50-100 individuals.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), data technologies, and automation tools.
  • Recent, demonstrable experience in adopting, exploring, and successfully using AI, including RAGs, CAGs, and KAGs.
  • Proven ability to drive organizational change and implement best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across all levels of an organization.
  • An embrace of the "citizen programmer" concept and the ability to foster a culture where more people can prototype and push out solutions.
  • The ability to attract and retain top-level talent, building a high-performing organization.
