Description

AMI is seeking a CMA for the opening of Clinical Biopsy Coordinator/CMA in the Mullica Hill-Tomlin office location.  This is a great opportunity to join a growing outpatient practice and make a direct impact on patients during their breast biopsy experience.

The responsibilities of the Clinical Biopsy Coordinator/CMA include:

Biopsy Coordination:

  • Coordinates all aspects of breast biopsy scheduling, preparation, and follow-up.
  • Tracks and manages provider recommendations to ensure timely completion of biopsies.
  • Serves as a liaison between radiologists, technologists, navigators, and referring providers.
  • Communicates with patients to explain procedures, scheduling details, and next steps with empathy and professionalism.
  • Maintains and updates biopsy tracking logs and ensures accuracy in patient records.
  • Facilitate pathology results documentation and ensure proper communication with providers and patients.
  • Engages with other clinical and non-clinical staff members and leaders, including the Nurse Manager, for direction when needed.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

CMA Responsibilities:

  • Provides clinical support, within the scope of CMA certification, during the breast biopsy process.
  • Prepares patients for imaging and biopsy procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding.
  • Assists providers during exams and biopsies following sterile technique and safety standards.
  • Obtains and document patient history, vital signs, and consent as appropriate.
  • Ensures exam rooms and biopsy suites are properly stocked and maintained.
  • Support daily clinical operations, including patient flow, supply management, and infection control.
  • Engages with other clinical and non-clinical staff members and leaders, including the Nurse Manager, for direction when needed.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

This full time, 40 hour per week position is based in AMI's Mullica Hill office location on Tomlin Station Road.  At times, coverage may be required in the Deptford or Woolwich Township offices.  The work schedule includes Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm.  Schedules are subject to change based on department needs.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Eligible candidates must have national Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.  An American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for the position and must be obtained within 30 days of assuming the role.  Candidates must have prior work experience in a healthcare setting and experience in Women's Imaging, radiology, or procedural assistance is a plus.  Candidates must have experience working with EMR and have intermediate computer skills.

This position involves speaking with patients, team members, including staff and Radiologists, about sensitive diagnostic matters.  Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication is necessary to be successful in the role. The ability to communicate with understanding and empathy, in a way that aids the patient experience and employee experience is required.  Candidates must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment while independently seeking and completing work tasks.
