The Supervisor, Homeless Prevention oversees the Homeless Prevention (HP) program, which provides short-term rental assistance and case management for the Catholic Charities service area. The HP Program is funded through many finding streams and follows the Housing First model. The Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the HP Program and is responsible for staff supervision, client support, and quality standards. 

 

What you Deliver

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of Case Navigator. Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to ensure the efficient operation of the program. Conduct weekly case consultation sessions with staff. Ensures proper security and confidentiality of client records and information in compliance with agency policy. Assists the Director, Permanent Supportive Housing in providing program oversight by monitoring the daily activities of the HP Program and in setting and achieving program goals.

  • Oversee the intake and assessment of clients to determine eligibility for the program. Assigning eligibility clients to the Case Managers.

  • Collaborate with case managers to ensure that clients receive comprehensive support services tailored to their needs. Mediates high intensity situations and addresses client complaints or concerns. Co-facilitates training, and family and individual coaching with clients and their families. Monitor client progress and outcomes, making necessary adjustments to support plans as required.

  • Assists Case Managers with the process of locating and securing housing for clients based on individual needs. Communicates and negotiates with landlords to keep clients in stable housing.

  • Assist Case Managers in coordinating with the housing search and placement process for clients based on individual needs. Communicate and negotiate with landlords and/or property management companies to secure a stable permanent housing option for the clients. Assist clients with the application process, reviewing lease packet submissions for accuracy and completion. Assist with inspection prn (as needed) and/or move-in inspections.

  • Provides continuous quality review of digital and physical client records for compliance with agency, CoC, federal program standards and best practices. Prepares accurate and timely program reports with data on services provided, quality measures, and outcomes.

  • Respond to crises or emergencies involving program participants and take appropriate actions to ensure their safety and well-being.

  • Collaborate with community organizations, local agencies, and government entities to enhance program resources and advocate for housing solutions.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related field

  • Two (2) years of experience in case management within the homelessness services, housing programs, or social services.

  • One (1) year of experience in a supervisory role leading a case management or social services team.

  • Possess Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Certificate or obtain within 90 days of employment

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License

  • Strong organizational skills.
