Your Role as a Billing Clerk

The Vehicle Sales Billing Clerk represents the dealership by ensuring that all vehicle sales transactions and sales commissions are calculated and posted accurately and efficiently, and by keeping all sales and commission figures confidential. Must verify accuracy of paperwork and figures to ensure dealership's financials are precise. Must be dependable, multi-tasked, ability to prioritize tasks and schedules, flexible in office operations, skilled with 10-key pad, good computer, communications and telephone skills.

 

Shift Type: Full-time, hourly position

  • Four ten-hour shifts or five eight-hour shifts available!

Compensation: $21 - $26 per hour (DOE)

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Protect the legal and financial welfare of the dealership.
  • Support the efforts of other employees in the department to be successful.
  • Seek ways to exceed the expectations of employees and customers.
  • Set an example by maintaining a positive attitude and being professional at all times.
  • Use sound accounting practices and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Keep all customer information private.
  • Process, prepare, and post car sales transactions.
  • Reconcile related schedules.
  • Calculate commissions based on schedules.
  • Among other required duties.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Basic working knowledge of automotive accounting with at least one year of successful office experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Use sound accounting practices and procedures at all times to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to maintain confidential, up-to-date and accurate records.
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to follow up on incomplete paperwork.
