POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for managing overall sales in specified market areas. Oversees the selling of company's products & services through demonstrated knowledge of customer, product, and organizational capabilities to find solutions for customer's needs resulting in revenue generation. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage Sales Consultants within the District and is responsible for recruiting, training, and mentoring new hires and existing personnel.
  • Assist Sales Consultants in the District with organizational skills, account strategies, and territory planning
  • Evaluate employee needs and recommend training/re-training in identified areas
  • Submit and administer annual street sales operating plan and operating budget, reviewing, and approving street sales-related expenses, credits, donations, and contracts, and tracking performance against plan, identifying gap closures.
  • Assist in coordinating product cuttings and demonstrations; develop sales and marketing strategies and proposals for customers on products and services, conducting market research to determine customer needs and provide information to sales staff.
  • Communicate sales data to contribute to product/service planning; assist in planning district sales meetings and events with Marketing and Merchandising personnel.
  • Understand and utilize the Sales Foundations tools and processes to grow sales, generate additional revenue, and maintain customer service standard.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor new hires as well as existing, conducting field support/work-with sessions to observe coaching needs and support needs for sales consultant development, and evaluate needs and recommend training as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and product developments that affect target markets, establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to prospective sales; evaluate product mix in terms of meeting customers’ needs
  • Research and develop lists of potential customers, making targeted sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads along with sales staff. Conduct periodic Customer Business Reviews to identify customer needs as well as relationship gaps.
  • Assist in customer/delivery alignment and driver engagement.

 

 

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent,
  • Demonstrated problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Proficiency with laptop technology and should be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn the Target system
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as customer service and presentation abilities
  • Leadership and team-building skills

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Drive personal vehicle to customer accounts, conventions, company meetings, etc.
  • Lift/carry laptop and sales materials weighing up to 40 lbs., to and from office, home, car, and customer locations.
  • Must be able to constantly bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, climb, kneel, squat, twist, and stand.
  • Regular contact with public, customer representatives, and vendors

 

Work Environment:

 

  • Work hours may vary, or change based on department requirements.
  • The job is primarily 75% traveling
  • Multiple customer location environments, i.e.:  independent restaurants, institutions, chains, etc.
  • The job is primarily performed in a mobile environment that can be ever changing
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically low.
