Summary and Qualifications

Summary of Position

The Associate Student Director for the Capital Hills Campus will work alongside the Student Ministry Team to carry out the mission of partnering with families to raise a generation for Christ. They will do this by working both internally within our Capital Hills Student Ministry team, as well as externally with our community schools.

  • Proven effectiveness as an evangelist
  • Energetic and clear communicator, comfortable with teaching in front of large crowds with a diversity of age and background
  • Track record of making disciples
  • Comfortable with a work culture that prioritizes excellence, teamwork, and evaluation
  • Detail oriented and professional organization
  • Thriving personal walk with Jesus
  • Ingenuitive problem solver and life-long learner 
  • Understanding of the ethos and motivations of Gen Z
  • Experience in organizing and executing large scale events
  • A member of the Summit Church or willing & able to become a member
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to reach all students with the Gospel

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Abide by the Student EPOD
  • Recruit, train, and develop teams of volunteers
  • Execution of Sunday programming which may include a rotation of Middle School Life Groups, Middle School Sunday night gatherings (MSM) & High School Sunday evening gatherings (WKLY)
  • Regular involvement in local schools through attending FCAs, lunches, sporting events, plays, and other extracurricular activities
  • Coordinate and execute student events outside of the Sunday gathering that foster community, evangelism, outreach, and service throughout the year
  • Utilize data based systems that support the discipleship ministries
  • Participate in campus and central student meetings
  • Prepare and deliver large group teachings on a regular basis including, but not limited to sermons, trainings, gospel and baptism classes, and team meetings
  • Own the First Time Guest process and find ways to help new students make connections in the ministry
  • Communicate with parents, leaders, and students 
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Capital Hills Student Director

Churchwide Events

The hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold. 

Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
