Summary of Position

The Associate Campus Director assists the Campus Pastor in serving, leading, and shepherding the Summit Church in its mission to make disciple making disciples at the campus, with a focus on Young Adults, Guest Services and Member Assimilation. 

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A commitment to servant leadership and dependence on God (Mk. 10:45; Col. 3:23-24, Jn. 15:5-8). 
  • Has a passion and gifting to spiritually lead our people in the mission to be a movement of disciples that make disciples. 
  • Understands the value of trust, grace and truth within a team context. 
  • Is a self starter (but at the same time operates well in a team context). 
  • Leads by being organized, prepared and administratively proficient. 
  • Has a teachable spirit and eagerness to learn. 
  • Strong People Skills: able to lead, cast vision, call to action, and delegate with discernment. 
  • A Member, or willing and able to become a member, of The Summit Church

Responsibilities

  • Young Adults (10 hours)
    • Build out Young Adult ministry 
    • Meet with and develop relationships with Young Pros within the community
    • Implement the 4 focus points of Young Adults
      • Multiply Reach 
      • Multiply Disciples 
      • Multiply Leaders 
      • Multiply Missionaries   
  • Guest Services (15 hours)
    • Seeing Sunday as an intentional discipleship space. Care for and develop service team and team leads: parking, greeting, seating, next steps and FTG, etc.
    • Implement the Guest Services culture at the campus level. Adhere to the GS EPOD.
    • Sunday Guest Services set-up and tear down at ECHHS.
    • Oversee and implement the First Time Guest process.
    • Baptism Logistics: baptism setup during Sundays (tanks and materials), as well as baptism registration and logistics.
    • Recruit, onboard and train new volunteers.
    • Will participate in Guest Service Team central meetings and development cohorts. 
  • Member Assimilation (5 hours)
    • Assists the campus pastor with the assimilation process including Explore the Summit and Become a Member Classes.
    • Part of teaching team for other assimilation classes (i.e. Discover Your Design and Find Your Place). 
    • Utilize the Rock to track the member assimilation process at all stages. 
  • Other Responsibilities (10 hours): The role will include 1 or 2 other responsibilities. This will depend on candidate experience, gifting and passion.

    • Deacon Team 
  • Team and Discipleship Culture
    • Attends weekly Chapel Hill Staff Team meetings and speaks into the big picture strategic direction of the campus. 
    • Engages in personal discipleship as well as encourages others to be a part of the Summit disciples making culture. 

 

Churchwide Events

The hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold. 

Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
