Summary and Qualifications

Summary of Position

The Blue Ridge Associate Campus Director will have a passion for the care and equipping of the church and should be detail-oriented in order to implement and oversee systems and processes. This person will work with both the Blue Ridge Campus team and the central Small Groups Team.

  • Understands and embraces The Summit Church’s small group discipleship model.
  • Spiritual maturity, and a history of disciple-making. 
  • Adept at working within systems and processes
  • A member or willing and able to become a member of The Summit Church

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  •   Support the Campus Pastor
    • Partner with and assist the Campus Pastor in both guiding and guarding the mission and vision of The Summit Church within the context of the Blue Ridge Campus.
    • Represent the Campus Pastor as needed and/or in his absence. This includes but is not limited to staff meetings, attending Elder meetings as requested, services and group gatherings, etc.
    • Provides guidance, support and crisis care to attendees as needed.
    • Supports, encourages and collaborates with the Blue Ridge Campus staff
  • Small Groups
    • Partners with the Elders to implement the Summit Church small group vision to include ensuring every Blue Ridge adult small group understands and carries out Summit’s small group plan
    • Along with Elder assistance, owns the recruitment of new small group leaders including casting a personal vision for small group planting and multiplication, evaluating applicants, and identifying new leaders
    • Seek to connect people at the Blue Ridge Campus to small groups to include organizing GroupLink and determining efficiencies and methods of small group member recruiting
    • Assess Blue Ridge small group ministry to include the regular evaluation of the overall health of small groups. 
    • Attend Monthly Central Support Small Group meeting and All Staff meeting 
  •   Membership, Baptism, and Assimilation
    • Lead, teach, or facilitate quarterly New Member Classes at the Blue Ridge Campus
    • Oversee assimilation for people who are interested in getting baptized and/or joining the church. 
    • Coordinate all baptisms, including all-call weekends
    • Recruit and train baptism counselors and help with logistics on baptism weekends
  • Men’s and Women’s ministry 
    • Work with the Women’s and Men’s Discipleship coordinators to establish an overarching strategy to engage adult men and women in spiritual growth and discipleship
    • Assist with leading and coaching both Men’s and Women’s Discipleship Coordinators

 

Churchwide Events

The hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold. 

Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event
