Position Summary:

Windward Risk Managers is looking for an experienced AP Supervisor to join a growing and dynamic organization to oversee Accounts Payable function and company’s Internal Billing processes. This role is a key to the company’s financial oversight by insuring invoices are properly coded and accounted for each period. The ideal candidate should possess great interpersonal skills as they will be working with vendors and personnel at all levels of the organization. This position provides the ideal candidate with growth and learning opportunities. Candidates who will be successful in this role need to have initiative, willingness to learn and motivation.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure invoices are properly coded and accounted for each period to support management’s financial decision-making process. 
  • Work with vendors, personnel, and leaders throughout the organization to ensure invoices and billing are processed timely and accurately. 
  • Supervise and manage a team of Account Payable and Billing team members and help them develop processes and procedures that grow with the organization.
  • Identify and proactively provide solutions to new challenges and continuously look for process improvements.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree with a major in accounting and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounts payable.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Certification in Accounts Payable inclusive of 1099 reporting or the ability to attain within 12 months of hire.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and coach team members, delegate tasks, and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to author policies and procedures, reports, business correspondence, etc. that is well written and organized, clearly presented, and focused on the subject at hand.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in accounting, finance, or related discipline.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office including Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint, and other accounting and payment software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
