We are seeking a responsible and experienced Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing regular account reconciliations, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of accounting principles and practices. The ideal candidate for this role has prior experience with accounting software and strong organizational skills.
A day in the life may include:
· Supervise, direct, and evaluate accounts payable, vehicle, parts, service & warranty accounts receivable, and administrative responsibilities within the accounting department. Assist with the training and development of staff to ensure continuity of operations in the Accounting Department.
· Supervise and direct the financial close process and procedures, ensuring that general ledger entries and account reconciliations are certified in compliance with corporate policies & procedures.
· Manage and administer the truck center’s accounts payable disbursement platform, including the purchase card portfolio.
· Ensure adequate controls are operating effectively within the DMS purchasing, accounts payable, and invoicing systems, and that parts inventory managed in the DMS are physically verified each year in compliance with corporate policies & procedures.
· Collaborate with department managers and the corporate benefits manager to develop, track, allocate, and forecast the company’s fixed overhead and employee benefit expenses.
· Ensure regulatory filings, federal & state tax/fee filings, and associated payments are submitted timely.
· Develop accurate financial statements for each financial period and ensure timely distribution to management and the corporate team. Provide management with an executive summary of financial results, including an analysis of historical trends.
