Overview:

Responsible for assisting PCA parents by managing student accounts, including tuition and fees billing, payment processing, and disbursement of granted financial aid.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage student accounts and process tuition payments
  • Administer financial aid disbursements to student accounts appropriately
  • Coordinate with PCA Admissions and Registrar to on-board new students/families to ensure all required steps are completed and contracts processed timely
  • Monitor collection activity and investigate delinquent accounts
  • Process refunds, manage payment plans and communicate with families about financial impacts and deadlines for student accounts
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts with student accounts to generate reports, such as monthly A/R aging schedules
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to school policies
  • Provide daily oversight and directives to the Student Billing team
  • Review reports/reconciliation/account changes prepared by the Student Billing team
  • Demonstrate full understanding and ownership over assigned duties
  • Identify existing and potential issues within assigned responsibilities and offer solutions
  • Partners with the Tuition Assistance Committee to ensure the accuracy of student accounts. 
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information, records, and communications related to student billing accounts, tuition assistance, and collections.
  • Process withdrawal calculations and assessments.
  • Approach financial collections with a ministry-focused mindset, seeking to partner with families in a respectful and compassionate manner while upholding the school’s financial responsibilities.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as an active member of a Bible believing and preaching church
  • Four Year College degree required, preferably in accounting, business or finance
  • Four years plus of experience in collections or accounting/business operations
  • Operates under universal organization competencies, such as confidentiality, integrity, servanthood, innovation, and stewardship
  • Ability to see and operate based on greater organizational vision with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; primarily Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; especially in stressful situations
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Data analysis skill
  • Familiarity or experience with Blackbaud or FACTS student billing software is a plus
  • Ability to work Monday – Friday from a desk with a computer screen for extended periods of time, occasionally perform physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as walking, stooping, pushing/pulling a cart and lifting up to 10 pounds without assistance.
