Description

Summary: Responsible for the operation of all ride attractions including the safe loading and unloading of guests into and onto amusement rides by performing the following duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Directly responsible for the safe operation of all attractions, including following protocols as outlined by the manufacturers.

 

  1. Directly oversees team members to assist with ensuring guest and team member safety.

 

  1. Monitors all functions of each ride including, but not limited to, motor function, designated operational presets, cabin temperatures, safety systems, and operating system information.

 

  1. Tracks and records the number of guests loading into a designated database for each ride cycle.

 

  1. Works with team members to ensure that Restricted Area/Danger Zone is free of guests at all times.

 

  1. Acts as designated emergency personnel for Ride-related emergencies that may result in emergency evacuation including, but not limited to, severe weather, loss of power, and guest illness.

 

  1. Assists with maintenance inspections, as requested.

 

  1. Responds to emergency communications.

 

  1. Maintains expert-level knowledge of all ride functions and operational guidelines.

 

  1. Monitors weather for inoperable conditions and can use best judgement to decide to off-load rides if weather conditions are or become unsafe.

 

  1. Completes Daily Inspection Checklist that ensures that proper preliminary checks have been completed before opening to the public.

 

  1. Communicates and coordinates with maintenance and management to ensure safe and efficient operations.

 

  1. Reports and documents maintenance items in the correct application.

 

  1. Performs final run of attraction to make sure that all guests have been offloaded before parking attraction and powering-down control system.

 

  1. Performs final platform/ride area walk to ensure that all storage doors and gate locks are secured and that all guests have cleared platform/ride area before main gates are secured for the night.

 

  1. Assists with ensuring basic labor laws are followed.

 

  1. Maintain clean guest and back areas.
  2. Completes all required training.
  3. Any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Has oral and written proficiency of the English language.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations

where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in

written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Education/Experience:

One to two years related experience and/or training operating amusement rides preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (weather), and extreme heat (weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and confined spaces.  The work environment is primarily outdoors.

 

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
