Description

The accounts payable specialist is responsible for reviewing, coding and inputting invoices, and processing payments for Accounts Payable (A/P). They are responsible for closing the monthly AP/MM Meditech modules and posting corresponding journal entries as well as assisting with other tasks in preparation of monthly financial statements.

RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Process various invoices and credit memos per departmental procedures.
  • Work with materials management to match invoice items to purchase orders.
  • Prepare A/P checks.
  • Communicate with vendors and departmental managers concerning AP information.
  • Responsible for accounts payable reconciliations.
  • Create and run reports.
  • Perform month-end tasks to assist in the preparation of monthly financials including but not limited to invoice accruals and prepaid allocations.
  • Assist in other projects and functions within the department to meet departmental deadlines.
  • Set priorities for routine work flow and make allowances for special circumstances that may arise.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Show an interest in personal growth and development by attending departmental in-services and meetings.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education opportunities including internal and external educational offerings; Attend required hospital educational programs.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols at all times.
  • Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.
  • Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English. Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive/email and navigate information technology associated with the position. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Ability to remain flexible to quickly adapt to urgent situations. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.Education and/or Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent required. Skill in analyzing and problem solving and strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills required. Prior work experience with Microsoft Excel is preferred.Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:  For positions requiring travel, valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance required.Non Safety-Sensitive PositionAs a condition of employment, vaccinations are required per DRH Policy. Medical and Religious Exemptions are available upon request.
