Position Summary

Good360 seeks a strategic and hands-on Director of Business Intelligence to transform how we measure, analyze, and communicate our social impact. This role will build comprehensive data capabilities that inform executive decision-making while creating powerful dashboards that demonstrate our impact to donors, nonprofit partners, and prospective supporters. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in data architecture with strong leadership skills and a passion for nonprofit mission advancement.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following

Strategic Leadership & Analytics

  • Design and implement enterprise-wide business intelligence strategy aligned with Good360's mission and growth objectives
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify key performance indicators and develop data-driven insights for strategic decision-making
  • Create comprehensive impact measurement frameworks
  • Develop predictive analytics models to optimize donation allocation and nonprofit partner matching

Dashboard Development & Visualization

  • Build and maintain executive dashboards providing real-time insights into organizational performance, donor impact, and program effectiveness
  • Create donor-facing impact dashboards showing measurable outcomes from their contributions
  • Develop public-facing visualization tools to demonstrate Good360's community impact to prospective donors and stakeholders
  • Design self-service analytics capabilities enabling directors and managers to access relevant performance data

Technical Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee Azure-based data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance optimization
  • Manage Power BI environment, including workspace governance, security protocols, and user access management
  • Collaborate with IT team on data pipeline architecture, ETL processes, and system integrations
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and nonprofit reporting requirements

Data Governance & Quality

  • Establish comprehensive data governance frameworks ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all systems
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and vendors to implement data quality monitoring, validation processes, and error remediation workflows
  • Define data standards, naming conventions, and documentation protocols

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor existing team, providing technical guidance and professional development opportunities
  • Assess team growth needs and develop hiring strategies for expanding data capabilities
  • Manage departmental budget allocation, vendor relationships, and technology investments
  • Foster collaborative relationships across departments to ensure data initiatives support organizational objectives

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field; Master's preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related roles
  • 3+ years of management experience with demonstrated success leading technical teams
  • Experience in nonprofit sector or mission-driven organizations strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Azure data services (Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services)
  • Expert-level Power BI development including DAX, Power Query, and advanced visualization techniques
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in database design and optimization
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data manipulation
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse design
  • Knowledge of data governance tools and methodologies
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to executive audiences
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation
  • Demonstrated success building cross-functional partnerships and driving organizational change

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce data integration and nonprofit CRM systems
  • Experience with Make.com integration platform
  • Certification in Power BI, Azure, or relevant data analytics platforms
  • Experience with machine learning implementation in business intelligence contexts

Salary Range 
$130,000 – $135,000 annually 

 

Note: Compensation is based on a candidate's experience, skills, education, and geographic location. This range is based on Washington, D.C.–Maryland–Virginia (DMV) market data; offers to candidates outside this area will reflect local market data. 

 

Work Location 
Hybrid, based in our Old Town Alexandria, VA office (minimum of two days per week with Tuesday as an anchor day)
