Summary
|
The Maintenance Helper is responsible for assisting the Crew Leader complete work order assigned to them by their manager. Work orders include leak repairs, taps and general maintenance for Quadvest L.P. facilities and subdivisions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
|
- Make the vehicle ready for the day planned by the work orders assigned, (Load parts according to what is given by the inventory coordinator, ice for cooler, etc.).
- Assist in loading and unloading heavy equipment.
- Assist the Crew Leader in completing the work order.
- Assist the Crew Leader with maintaining required vehicle and equipment logs.
- Observe safety in completing the work orders in compliance to standards and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and tools.
- Must be able to work closely with customer service.
- Works I trench repairing leaks, installing taps, or repairing collection system.
- Will interact with customers daily.
- Perform any other activities to assist the Crew Leader.
Key Performance Indicators

- 95% quality completion of taps/repairs.
- Ensure site is always prepared for the job.
- Effective and efficient parts/inventory management for daily tasks.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma.
- Must be able to obtain a TCEQ D Water License within one year of hire.
- Professionalism in dealing with customers in the field.
- Prefer some related utility experience.
Language/Math/Reasoning Ability
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
- Proficient computer skills, including electronic mail and some experience with basic accounting software, compliance software, and financial analysis software.
- Ability to learn and use Paycom software for timekeeping.

- Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
- Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
- The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
- Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
- 40+ hours/week required according to the needs of the department; schedule set by Operations as needed to meet production schedules.
- No overnight travel by land and/or air.
