Rec n Roll Driver and Activity Leader

Duties: Under the supervision of the Youth Sports & Engagement Specialist, the Rec n Roll! Driver & Activity Leader will be responsible for the following:

• Transport the Rec N Roll box truck to activities and special events from Lakeview Recreation Center.
• Supervise and actively participate in activities with children, ensuring a fun and safe environment.
• Facilitate the proper use of supplies and equipment during activities.
• Follow all safety procedures related to the role and support all aspects of the Park District’s safety protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Season: May 10 to September 25
• Hours: Tuesday through Thursday 3:15 pm to 7:15 pm
• Special Events:
  • Saturday, May 10
  • Friday, May 30
  • Saturday, July 26
  • Saturday, September 13
  • Additional Saturdays as determined.

Essential Functions: Some physical exertion required in handling supplies, equipment and materials.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Youth experience is preferred. Age 20 and older to drive the van.

Knowledge and Ability:

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions. 
• Aptitude for on-the-job training.
• Ability to understand and complete record keeping and paperwork relative to job duties.
• Ability to work harmoniously with Park District personnel and the public.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
