Commercial HVAC Service Technician – Montgomery County, PA Region

 

Oliver Heating & Cooling is a long-standing, reputable company looking for an experienced HVAC technician to join our Commercial Service team! We are offering a full-time position servicing the Montgomery County, PA region.

Job Duties include:

  • Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to a variety of commercial HVAC systems, Chillers, Boilers, Pumps, and BAS systems.
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently- maximizing productivity and minimizing down time
  • Ability to utilize an electronic tablet for all facets of information sharing, scheduling, work order write ups, quotes, emails, etc.
  • Obtain vendor quotes, order parts and follow up with vendors until parts are received
  • Create quotes for customers
  • Ability to manage your own portfolio of accounts (communicate and schedule directly with customers, prioritize workload, stay on task with PM’s, etc.) This will be a gradual process, allowing sufficient time for acclimation and development
  • Carrying and climbing ladders, up to 40’
  • Share in after-hours on-call rotation (1-week intervals)
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as PPE, safety procedures and/or the maintenance of a clean work area

 

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in Commercial Service.
  • Controls knowledge is not required but is a plus!
  • EPA Type I + Type II refrigeration certification (Type III is a plus!)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and rotating on call
  • Reliability / dependability
  • Valid driver’s license and a good record
  • Pre-employment substance screening, physical, and background check

License/Certification:

  • EPA Type II (Preferred)

 

 

Physical Demands: This position requires a range of physical abilities consisting of:

  • Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching, squatting, crawling; heights, ascend/descend ladder, climb or balance, confined spaces.
  • Eyesight corrected or uncorrected sufficient to read a variety of materials including but not limited to fine print.
  • Hearing with or without use of hearing aid(s) sufficient to hear any conversation with others; understandable voice and speech patterns.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination sufficient to operate tools and equipment of the trade.
  • Sitting, standing and/or walking for extended periods of time.
  • Use hands to handle and/or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Must occasionally lift, push, pull or carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Work in outdoor conditions: Heat/Cold inclement weather

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • On call
  • Weekend availability
