Purpose:  The Foreman III’s primary responsibility involves overseeing, guiding, and supervising the project crew to ensure the delivery of high-quality work that meets the satisfaction of our customers.

 

Essential Duties include the following:

  • Manages and leads crews or projects ranging from $1M-$2.5M
  • Ensures every job is planned for smooth execution
  • Oversees a team of two or more Foremen and manages a workforce ranging from 10 to 20 employees
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to develop field org chart and responsibilities
  • Mentors and trains direct reports; identifies potential future leaders with HR. Ensures crew compliance with policies and hold them accountable for performance
  • Completes required employee evaluations and provides timely feedback
  • Communicates frequently with General Contractor, Supervisor, and other trades to ensure efficient project coordination and progress. Participates in all relevant meetings
  • Keeps Project Manager informed of any project changes or impacts
  • Communicates material status to Journeyman and Apprentices
  • Provides all necessary documentation to the office promptly
  • Studies and evaluates blueprints, spec books, and tracks changes and as-builts
  • Assigns tasks to Journeyman and Apprentices, providing feedback on progress
  • Assists with material procurement, including organizing and tracking purchase orders
  • Plans and details projects thoroughly before starting, including layout and installation of electrical components based on specifications and codes; identifies temporary manpower needs
  • Reviews and ensures compliance with current NEC codes and oversees QA/QC and installations
  • Coordinates with QA/QC on labeling and equipment turnovers
  • Identifies and utilizes Prefab opportunities
  • Collaborates with BIM Specialist on project needs
  • Develops an understanding of project financials and assists the Project Manager as needed
  • Tracks change orders and accounts for tasking and reporting
  • Develops project schedules and provides trade milestones to relevant staff
  • Collaborates with management on manpower projections and needs
  • Identifies, communicates, and tracks project delays
  • Schedules project inspections as required
  • Coordinates site MOPs (Method of Procedure)
  • Assists with project closeout process
  • Repairs, replaces, assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools
  • Troubleshoots and tests electrical systems using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, and test lamps
  • Inspects electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs while ensuring compliance with local codes
  • Assists with tool procurement, organization, and tracking, including rental equipment
  • Understands and follows Kenny Electric’s processes and procedures
  • Directs weekly safety training meetings and conducts safety training as needed
  • Facilitates and attends in-house training sessions as required
  • Performs other assigned duties as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Current Journeyman or Master Electrician with a Colorado license
  • Extensive experience in wiring systems, all phases of project installation, electrical control work, troubleshooting, and purchasing of electrical material and parts
  • Knowledge of current NEC and industry-related practices, including area classifications
  • Ability to run two or more crews on large and/or small projects and supervise, evaluate, and develop Lead Journeymen, Journeymen, and Apprentices
  • Completed four or more projects from start-up to completion as a Foreman or Supervisor I or II
  • Experience in commercial and/or industrial environments, with at least 2 year of prior supervisory experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, assertive problem-solving ability, and adherence to professional conduct in addressing issues with appropriate parties
  • Holds OSHA 30 Certification and current First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Preferred knowledge of P&ID and control schematics
  • Proficiency in computer operation, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Effective time management skills, adaptability to different project sizes, and availability for overtime or irregular business hours as needed
  • Demonstrated understanding of Supervisor duties, responsibilities, and expectations based on the size and type of construction project
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Proven quality electrician installation and mechanical abilities
  • Ability to manage and understand project budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
  • Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
  • Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
  • Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
  • Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
  • Must be able to get to various customer sites as required.

 

Work Environment: Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
