Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide direct care and support for children with special needs. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, mobility support, and personal care while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on assistance with daily activities, including hygiene, feeding, mobility, and toileting.
  • Ensure a safe and structured environment while promoting independence and skill-building.
  • Monitor and report any medical, behavioral, or developmental concerns to the supervising clinician or healthcare provider.
  • Support social interactions, communication skills, and engagement in daily routines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, following infection control and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with families, therapists, and healthcare professionals to provide continuity of care.

Qualifications:

  • Active CNA certification in Georgia.
  • Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities (minimum 1 year preferred).
  • Completion of or willingness to complete ABA training (e.g., RBT certification or equivalent ABA coursework).
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and sensory processing challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining patience and professionalism.
  • Must pass background checks and health screenings per state and program requirements.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in pediatric healthcare, home care, or school-based settings.
  • Familiarity with mobility aids, feeding assistance, and sensory support techniques.
  • Training in crisis prevention and intervention is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and assist with transfers if necessary.
  • Requires frequent bending, kneeling, and engaging in active caregiving tasks.
  • Work may involve exposure to challenging behaviors, requiring patience and de-escalation skills.
  • Must be comfortable working in home, clinic, school, or community settings as needed.
