DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

Job Purpose: This position is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the hotel, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and alignments with strategic goals while supports the hotel Finance team.  

Job Responsibilities:  

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with hotel goals.
• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll and general ledger.  Ensures profits and lossees are documented accurately.
• Review preliminary financial statements. 
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.  
• Complete the year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance. 
• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts.
• Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and fedral regulations.
• Maintain internal controls and safeguard hotel assets.
• Manage and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Provide training and mentorship to staff.
• Participate in strategic planning and capital expenditure decisions.

• Must have excellent organizational, administrative and problem-solving skills 
• Use eyes, hands, and fingers at the same time to enter figures in books and forms, or to operate a calculator or personal computer. 
• Proficiency in hotel accounting software (e.g., Profitsword, Micros, etc).   
• Must be an advanced user of Microsoft products, to include, Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, Sharepoint 
• Strong ability to present data to ownership and receive feedback. 
• Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line 

Physical Requirements:  

• Ability to speak and hear in English.  
• Close and distance vision.  
• Frequent sitting with some walking and standing. 
• Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.   

Working Conditions:  

• Continually works in normal office conditions and in close proximity to others. 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred).

Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in hospitality.
