Dimension Hospitality is a leading hotel management company committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a culture of excellence.  We are excited to announce new management at Courtyard and Residence Inn Houston Sugarland Strafford, and we are looking for a dynamic Dual Chief Engineer to join our team and oversee engineering operations (i.e. refrigeration, heating, plumbing, etc.) for both properties.  

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Oversee all engineering and maintenance operations for Courtyard and Residence Inn Stafford.
  • Supervise, develop and maintain ongoing maintenance operation for hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, A/H units, ice machines, pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc. 
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Work closely with Housekeeper and Front Desk Manager to ensure coordination of activities. May confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. 
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Manage energy conservation programs and monitor utility consumption.
  • Supervise and train engineering staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs, renovations, and capital projects.
  • Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and inventory.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, controlling costs without compromising quality.
  • Meet with architects to discuss blueprints, contact contractors to submit bids for new construction, and meets with construction supervisors to discuss different phases of work. 
  • Other duties as assigned.. 

Job Skills: 

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. 
  • Read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc. Write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Speak with poise, voice control, and confidence, using correct grammar and well-modulated voice. 
  • Ability to understand the technologies required in the work you are directing. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to speak and hear in English.
  • Close and distance vision.
  • Frequent sitting with some walking and standing.
  • Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Continually works in normal office conditions and in close proximity to others.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of engineering leadership experience in hospitality or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across two properties effectively.
  • EPA certification and/or other relevant technical certifications a plus.
