The Westin Crystal City Reagan Nation Airport’s General Manager role offers a chance to lead one of the top hotels in Arlington’s Crystal City and shepherd a vibrant team that is dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences.

For this role, we are seeking an experienced hospitality leader with a strong food & beverage background who will provide leadership to the team, manage operations while maintaining cost and quality standards, ensures superior service, and maximize profits.

Job Responsibilities include:

Leadership:

  • Recruit, onboard, develop, set schedules, and manage associates to drive productivity & efficiency while maintaining a positive atmosphere
  • Promote strong two-way communication across departmental lines to create a team environment amongst employees.
  • Create & maintain employee recognition systems and strategies to rewards excellence, retain top talent, and foster career development.

Financial Oversight:

  • Lead the preparation, development and implementation of the annual budget for a hotel with strong government travel demand, meeting space with F&B operations, and located in the DC Metro area.
  • Experience developing short term and long term financial and operational plans to support the overall objectives of the annual budget & management.
  • Ensure compliance with established company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Experience & Operations:

  • Continuously monitor the performance of the hotel through analysis of guest satisfaction systems and monthly financial reports.
  • Develop new programs which result in an increased level of guest satisfaction and operational excellence or initiate corrective actions for nonperformance.
  • Drive operational excellence through process improvement, proactive planning, and service recovery initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain a pro-active human resource function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage/benefit administration and compliance with established labor regulations.
  • Establish and maintain applicable preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the hotel.
  • Maintain a security function to protect the assets of the hotel and the personal safety of employees and guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.                                                                                                                 Sales & Strategy:
  • Experience with implementing and maintain local and national sales/marketing/revenue commercial programs.
  • Develop sales action plans and evaluate local & national trends to create strategies that will enhance revenues.
  • Represent the hotel within the Arlington and hospitality communities.

General Skill Requirements:

  • Computer skills to create, edit and review word documents, spreadsheet, and familiarity with Marriott specific property Management System(s).
  • Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills.
  • Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of customers and hotel management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to speak and hear in English. Close and distance vision. Frequent sitting with some walking and standing. Frequently lifts/carries up to 20 lbs. Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Additional physical & visual requirements, ability to walk extended distances, and able to work overtime and irregular hours.
  • Working conditions include working in normal office conditions and in close proximity to others.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education - Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management and/or equivalent experience.

Experience - Minimum 2 years of experience as an AGM and/or 3 years hotel operations experience in a supervisory capacity with a strong F&B background. 2 years of experience in direct sales or retail trade; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications - Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive to customer appointments.
