At Hyatt Regency - Princeton (managed by Dimension Hospitality LLC) we emphasize a culture of service and individual accountability, fostering a "family" environment while also expecting high performance from associates.  As a member of the property, you are responsible for aligning associate strategies with our operations strategies and service initiateves to meet the hotels business objectives.  The Director of Human Resources is responsible for short- and long-term planning of the HR function.  This means leading strategically and tactically in the areas of workforce planning, recruitment and staffing strategies, wage and salary administration, associate and labor relations in a union environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Develop, HR strategies and administer HR policies and procedures.  
  • Strong background in employment, employee relations in a union environment, employee training, accident prevention.
  • Understand and use the concepts and legal guidelines that guide an employer to ensure all persons (candidates or associates) are treated ethically, morally, and within the requirements of the law.
  • Knowledge and practice of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, etc., and an understanding of how state laws differ from federal laws.
  • Support operational efforts through proper staffing and training of associates.
  • Maintain training records and facilitate, develop and/or conduct training sessions that provide initial and ongoing training by working with the management team to ensure department and individual training is provided as per Hyatt brand standards/requirement.
  • Provide employee conseling as necessary.
  • Plans and coordinate employee functions.
  • Act as a key recruitment contact, developing community relationships.  Work with mgmt. to improve retention.  
  • Manage Collective Bargaining Agreement and Grievance process.
  • Act as the point of contact for any associates who need to report a Workers Compensation Injury.  Maintain OSHA log in accordance with the act, correlate and communicate incidents trends, and participate in safety team meetings.
  • Work closely with Corporate HR function.
  • Oversee and process payroll information such as employment data, hours worked, rates of pay, deductions and all withholding necessary to accurately process payroll in a timely basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.




 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-year or more of progressive Human Resources experience (hospitality - Hyatt preferred).  Experience working in a union environment highly preferred.
  • Service oriented style with professional presentations skills.
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, motivational leader, effecitve in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the botton line.
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or similar field of study preferred.
  • SHRM Certification preferred.
