Job Purpose: Assist Director of Sales in generation of budgeted top line revenue and RevPAR for the hotel through a successful revenue management strategy. 


Job Responsibilities:   

  • Achieve individual monthly revenue goals/monthly solicitation goals. Monitor group sales teams progress toward their monthly individual revenue goals and solicitation goals. Provide feedback or set strategy sessions to help group sales associates succeed. 
  • Assist in development of team sales action plans, forecasting and evaluate trends to modify strategies that will enhance revenues effectively. Ensure competitive shop calls are being conducted. 
  • Assist in leading, training & mentoring group sales managers. Identify each sales managers’ opportunities for improvement and assist in their development. 
  • Assist in the production of annual hotel business plan. 
  • Assist in the development and maintaining of the departmental budget. 
  • Lead property revenue meetings always insuring revenue maximization and profit in all areas in the absence of the Director of Sales. 
  • Ensure that hotel credit procedures and audit guidelines are followed. 
  • Timely submission of required reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing and/or General Manager. 
  • Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and companies. 
  • Lead by positive example. Ensure group sales team members are a positive reflection of the hotel. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Job Skills: 

  • Computer skills to include Microsoft office products:  Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, PPT, etc  
  • Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills. 
  • Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.  
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of customers and hotel management. 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to speak and hear in English.  
  • Close and distance vision.  
  • Frequent sitting with some walking and standing.  
  • Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs.  
  • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. 
     

Working Conditions:   

  • Continually works in normal office conditions and in close proximity to others. 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field 
Experience: Minimum 3 years hotel sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience; OR equivalent level of education and work experience.  
Licenses/Certifications: Possess valid driver’s license and be able to drive to customer appointments.
