Undergraduate Mental Health Internship (Unpaid)  

About the Internship  

We are currently accepting applications for an Undergraduate Mental Health Intern to support our children’s mental health initiatives within a mission-driven non-profit organization. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience for students seeking to explore a career in mental health, social work, or child and family services.  

While this opportunity is designed to support academic internship or practicum requirements, placement is subject to availability and determined on a case-by-case basis based on candidate fit and organizational capacity.  

Internship opportunities may be available in the following areas and surrounding locations. Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Havre, Helena, Kalispell, Missoula 

Primary Responsibilities  

  • Supportive Services: Assist with the development and delivery of mental health-related activities and programming for children under staff supervision.  

  • Client Observation: Observe client sessions and intake processes (as appropriate), gaining insight into therapeutic and case management practices.  

  • Community Engagement: Participate in outreach efforts to increase awareness of available mental health resources when applicable.  

  • Administrative Support: Assist with tasks such as data entry, scheduling, and preparing materials for programs and services.

Qualifications

Qualifications  

  • Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.  

  • Interest: Passion for working with children, families, and underserved communities.  

  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively.  

  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate appropriate boundaries in a professional setting.
