Safety and Training Manager
Location: Saint Anthony, MN and Roseville, MN (Happy’s Potato Chips and Old Dutch Foods)
Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 annually
Reports To: Director of Plant Operations & Engineering
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Position Summary:
Old Dutch Foods is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee and manage the safety program across our U.S. operations. This role is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive written safety program and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. The Safety Manager will work closely with Plant Managers at both the Roseville and Happy’s locations to promote a “Safety First” culture across all teams. This position plays a key role in lowering company risk and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance with internal policies, industry best practices, and regulatory safety standards
- Serve as a key contact for safety matters with staff and regulatory agencies
- Conduct safety audits, meetings, training sessions, and one-on-one coaching
- Provide safety-related recommendations to management based on findings and trend analysis
- Collaborate with leadership to implement safety-focused policies, procedures, and objectives
- Oversee Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and OSHA compliance procedures
- Manage safety training programs per company policy and regulatory guidelines
- Lead incident investigations and conduct root cause analysis
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and other relevant safety regulations
- Track and report safety performance metrics and audit findings
- Ensure accurate reporting to state and federal agencies
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Proven experience identifying and correcting unsafe conditions
- Comfortable working under pressure and managing competing priorities
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably in manufacturing
- Experience with OSHA, DOT, NFPA, NEC, ANSI, FMCSA regulations and compliance
- Previous leadership experience required
- Proven results in safety program execution and culture-building
- Experience leading behavior-based safety programs
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong computer skills and experience with safety management systems
Physical Requirements:
- Office-based environment with frequent walking and standing
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Regular use of computers and standard office equipment
- Physical ability to conduct on-site inspections and safety audits
- Some travel required between plant locations
