EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Extensive network technology systems and software systems experience with formal specialized training courses and continuing education. Two years of responsible experience in working with network technologies, as well as a variety of associated software and hardware peripherals.
Training:
Equivalent to associate’s degree with major coursework in Computer Science or a related field, supplemented by specialized training with technology, networks and software. Minimum two years of hand on experience with information technology systems.
Working Hours:
Position will work 40 hours per week and be flexible in working some evenings (two maintenance evenings per month) or weekends depending on department needs of 24/7 operation centers (usually in emergency situations only). Normal work hours for Systems Technician are regular business hours of City Hall.
