We are hiring Flaggers to support traffic and pedestrian control for special campus events at Kennesaw State University.

A flagger plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and work crews in construction and maintenance zones. Flaggers are responsible for directing traffic, following safety protocols, and maintaining smooth traffic flow in compliance with state and local regulations. They must remain vigilant, proactive, and adaptable to changing conditions while maintaining professionalism and courtesy, even in high-stress situations. Flaggers must maintain a safe and friendly environment in accordance with AAA Parking and Kennesaw State policies.
Responsibilities
- Direct traffic in and around construction sites using signs, hand signals, and verbal communication.
- Maintain constant communication with other flaggers and work crews to coordinate traffic flow effectively.
- Monitor road conditions and traffic patterns, adjusting traffic control measures as necessary.
- Set up and take down traffic control signs, cones, and barricades in compliance with safety regulations.
- Respond quickly to emergencies, hazards, or unexpected traffic changes to ensure public and worker safety.
- Assist motorists with directions and provide clear information about detours or lane closures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, even when dealing with frustrated or impatient drivers.
- Follow all company and legal safety guidelines to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
- Conduct regular inspections of traffic control equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Work closely with supervisors and other team members to improve safety and efficiency on job sites.
