Position Overview:Â
The Industrial Engineer is responsible for driving improvements in throughput, quality, safety, and cost performance across Monogram Foods’ operations while ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. This role analyzes production processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and implements solutions using Lean, Six Sigma, and other engineering methodologies. The position requires a balance of hands-on problem solving and data-driven analysis, with accountability for optimizing labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and resource allocation. Success in this role depends on the ability to deliver sustainable process improvements, support cost and margin objectives, and collaborate effectively across Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, and R&D teams in a high-volume food manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct time-and-motion studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing to improve labor efficiency.
- Develop and maintain labor standards using simulation tools and process mapping.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to reduce waste and streamline production.
- Standardize work methods and maintain updated process documentation.
- Partner with Finance to track and validate cost savings from implemented projects.
- Monitor and reduce production costs through improved yields, reduced waste, and better asset utilization.
- Support new product launches with cost modeling, labor planning, and process integration.
- Design and modify facility layouts to improve material flow, ergonomics, and safety.
- Conduct time studies and capacity analyses to support production growth and scalability.
- Provide engineering input into capital projects, including equipment selection and commissioning.
- Ensure process changes comply with FDA, USDA, GFSI, and customer-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to validate new processes for food safety and quality.
- Support internal and external audits by providing process documentation and technical expertise.
- Work closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, and R&D to deliver feasible and sustainable solutions.
- Lead or participate in Kaizen events and train production teams in continuous improvement methodologies.
- Build and manage dashboards and KPIs (e.g., throughput per labor hour, cost per unit) to provide actionable insights for leadership.
