JOB SUMMARY

Performs routine (journey-level) technical accounting support work. Work involves performing detailed assignments in recording, classifying, examining, and verifying financial records, documents, or reports. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Under the general supervision of the Accounts Payable Manager, performs back-up entry level to advanced work for involving collecting, compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data related to the processing and recording of region payroll for non-exempt and exempt personnel. Also performs entry level to advanced work involving collecting, compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data used to process payment of vendors for expenditures related to operation of region programs as well as reimbursement for employee travel and cell phone usage. Also, is responsible for all aspects of the agency's Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and all other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of standard office practices, business terminology and mathematics. Ability to perform numerical detail work with speed and accuracy in preparation of vendor payment and payroll records in a systematic neat, legible manner. Ability to enter data into an electronic data processing system in an organized and efficient manner. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to learn assigned tasks rapidly and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, associates, and the public.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education: High school graduation or GED.

Experience: Experience in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting accounting data relevant to processing of vendor payments.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

A valid Texas drivers license and good driving record is required along with a copy of a valid auto insurance card.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Mainly an office position, however, must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period, and reach overhead.
